It was a tremendous pleasure and a privilege to be part of Hannah and Ed’s wedding day at the fantastic Gradbatch Mill, Buxton in July 2024. Indeed, I was delighted when the lovely couple asked me to perform magic during the early evening reception. It truly was a magical day at an exceptional location in the heart of the enchanting Peak District.

It was wonderful to freely mix with the lovely couple’s family and friends, performing close-up magic. Magical card routines, mind-reading effects and classic illusions were the order of the day, and Hannah and Ed’s guests were truly a joy to entertain. This period of the wedding reception is fantastic as I can also provide some special routines of prestidigitation for the newly-weds.

Magic is a tremendous medium to bring guests of all generations and backgrounds together on a wedding day. I always enjoy performing at weddings because there is so much positive energy; and everyone appreciates the opportunity to be amazed by mysterious illusions, predictions and mystifying mind-reading routines.

It was a tremendous privilege to entertain everyone on Molly and Will’s wedding day at the fantastic Bentley Brook Inn, Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Guests had travelled from far and wide to be there, and I thoroughly enjoyed providing close-up magic and table magic during both drinks reception and the early evening celebrations.

Card trickery, sleight-of-hand, mind-reading and captivating illusions always go down very well when the guests are enjoying a drink immediately after the ceremony. Some of Molly and Will’s guests had travelled all the way from Belgium to share this very special day, so it was great to perform a little magic speaking French too!

It was a pleasure to help kick off the evening revelries with some table-side entertainment. The period from the end of the wedding breakfast until the first dance is a fine time to amaze both day guests and evening arrivals with illusions and interactive magic effects. It’s always great to be able to include all generations on a wedding day too: from grandchildren to grandparents.

‘We booked David for our wedding and WOW he was fantastic!’

I was delighted when Mary Ann and Elliott called upon my services for their wedding celebrations in May at the beautiful Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. This would be my first wedding reception since last October, and I was really looking forward to the occasion.

The majestic architecture of the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. It was a tremendous privilege to be part of such a special wedding day.

The last time I had entertained at the Pavilion Gardens was at a charity fundraiser in the Grand Ballroom. However, due to the government guidelines, Mary Ann and Elliott’s wedding would be a much more intimate affair; which certainly made the day extra special.

Prior to performance, it was imperative to visit the venue and plan carefully for the day. Mary Ann and Elliott’s drinks reception was to be held in the majestic Winter Garden Conservatory and the exceptional Rita of Parkwood Leisure very kindly took the time out of her very busy schedule to discuss the unique format of the wedding with me. Indeed, the more planning and preparation a magician can do, the more powerful the magic will be. All of the staff at the Pavilion Gardens were fantastic and were keen to ensure everything ran smoothly for Mary Ann, Elliott and their guests.

You can always expect a very warm welcome from the exceptional events team whenever you visit the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton.

It truly was a massive privilege to mingle with such a lovely group of family members and close friends throughout drinks reception period. Guests had travelled from far and wide to share in Mary Ann and Elliott’s nuptials, and everyone was in fine spirits. We were also blessed with some sunshine which allowed everyone to sample the exquisite gardens, and the fantastic photographer Clare Robinson was always on hand to organise both group shots and capture those magic moments.

It’s always a pleasure to customise a little personalised magic for such an important occasion.

The Peak Edge Hotel near Chesterfield has established itself as one of the finest wedding venues in the region and David Fox was delighted when Sarah and Michael asked him to provide entertainment on their wedding day in June 2016. As well as providing exceptional cuisine, luxury accommodation, and exquisite function space, the hotel affords guests the unique opportunity to experience the glories of the Peak District nearby.

David was in his element mingling with the guests immediately after the wedding ceremony. Michael originally hails from across the Irish Sea, and guests had travelled from far and wide to enjoy this wonderful occasion. A particularly memorable moment was when David performed close-up magic within the bar area for some of the younger (and not so young) members of the wedding party. Indeed, the magician has a wide repertoire of effects in his locker to keep everyone amazed.

The lovely couple were naturally in hot demand for photographs during the drinks reception period and also took the opportunity to catch up with friends and relatives they hadn’t seen for a while. This is why it was wonderful for David to have the opportunity to perform some special magical effects for Sarah and Michael at the end of his performance. The Midlands magician always takes great pride in his art and it is a real pleasure to leave the newlyweds with a special memory from their wedding day revelries.
