Congratulations David and Tara! A Magical Evening at Rufford Mill…

‘You surpassed all expectations and thank you for making it so special for my mum Marion as well’

I was delighted when the lovely Tara and David asked me to perform close-up magic during their evening wedding reception at the fantastic Rufford Mill. This is always a wonderful time for some ‘mix-and-mingle’ prestidigitation – when bride, groom and guests are relaxing after the wedding breakfast.

The evening would be even more special as Tara’s Mum Marion is a big fan of magic, and has recently celebrated a very important birthday. The newlyweds had managed to keep my presence a secret, so it was a tremendous privilege to provide entertainment for the VIP guest!

One of the benefits of entertaining during the early evening reception is that I normally have an excellent opportunity to amaze the newlyweds. It was wonderful to provide both close-up sleight-of-hand and larger parlour illusions for Tara, David and close family and friends in the charming function suites of Rufford Mill.

Tara and David’s family and friends were a wonderful group to enthral with a variety of intriguing magical routines and illusions. Indeed, the delightful halls and rustic environs of Rufford Mill always provide the perfect backdrop for plenty of magical amazement on a wedding day! Many of Tara and David’s friends had a natural fascination with magic, and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to perform mysterious mind-reading and prediction effects later in the evening. This branch of the magical art is known as Mentalism, and one of its most famous modern day practitioners is Derren Brown.

It was a tremendous privilege to be part of the lovely Liam and Emma’s wedding day at the New Hall Hotel and Spa, Sutton Coldfield in May. Indeed, I was delighted when they contacted me, having been provided with a very kind recommendation from Scott and Nichola (friends of the bride and groom) who had both invited me to perform magic at their wedding at Pendrell Hall in 2019.

Liam and Emma requested that I mingle with their guests during drinks reception (immediately after the ceremony) and provide a little light table magic throughout wedding breakfast period. It truly was a pleasure to entertain such a lovely group of guests at such a stunning venue.

I always enjoy delivering a wide repertoire of magical effects, illusions, mind-reading routines and sleight-of-hand at wedding receptions. It is always a pleasure and a privilege to create some magical memories for the newlyweds – particularly during early evening reception when they can relax after the speeches! It was a tremendous privilege to be part of Michael and Emma’s wedding day celebrations at the delightful Dower House Hotel, Woodhall Spa. The glorious sunshine allowed the lovely couple and their guests to fully savour the beautiful environs of this stunning Lincolnshire venue.

Indeed, the fantastic weather also provided me with a wonderful opportunity to freely mix with Michael and Emma’s family and friends during drinks reception. Close-up card magic, classic illusions, mind-reading routines and curious predictions were delivered throughout this period.

Emma and Michael’s guests were certainly ready to enjoy some entertainment, and the rustic charm of the Dower House complimented the spectacle magnificently. The exceptionally talented PM Photography were present to expertly capture all of those special magical moments throughout the day. Indeed, the fantastic photographs within this article demonstrate Jonathan’s amazing skill and precision, and I am very thankful that he has kindly shared them. Emma and Michael had also requested that I deliver some table magic during the wedding breakfast. This form of entertainment is rather different to close-up ‘mix-and-mingle’ magic, and I must always ensure that my performances are blended into the schedule in an appropriate manner between the courses.
Entertaining the guests during this part of the wedding day allows me to perform a wide variety of illusions, sleight-of-hand and psychological effects which are all perfect for table-side. The guests, who I may have met during drinks reception, often invite me to entertain them during the meal.

Nicola and Joe’s Wedding at Stretton Manor Barn, Chesterfield

It was fantastic to be part of Nicola and Joe’s wedding celebrations at the exquisite Stretton Manor Barn. This exclusive venue is located south of Chesterfield and it is always a pleasure to visit.

The lovely couple had requested that I perform close-up magic and table magic throughout the wedding breakfast period. It was a privilege to entertain everyone on this very special day at such a charming location.

There were also some younger guests in attendance, and it is very important to include all the generations present on a wedding day! I thoroughly enjoyed providing a little child-friendly magic and colourful balloon modelling for the children.

For the grande finale, it was a massive privilege to provide some very special magic for both newlyweds and close family and friends. It was a tremendous pleasure and a privilege to be part of the lovely Katie and Jacob’s wedding celebrations at the fantastic Kenwick Park Hotel, Louth. This superb venue is situated near to the cultural town of Louth which is in close proximity to the unique Lincolnshire coastline. It truly is the perfect location for a wedding celebration, and Katie and Jacob’s big day certainly was a joy to behold.

Close-up magic during drinks reception (immediately after the ceremony when photographs are being taken) is always a lovely time to perform on a wedding day. This gives me an opportunity to share my diverse range of magical effects and create a positive atmosphere prior to wedding breakfast time. Wedding guests of all backgrounds and generations will be brought together by the power of magic!

Card magic, sleight-of-hand, mind-reading, startling predictions, and classical visual illusions are all potent hallmarks of my unique performances. Expect the unexpected on a wedding day! Katie and Jacob’s guests were lovely, and a real pleasure to entertain during both drinks reception and wedding breakfast time.

It is always vital to perform some very special magic for bride and groom on their big day! It was tremendous to have the opportunity to entertain the top table on Katie and Jacob’s wedding – and hopefully this will be a memorable part of the occasion for many years to come. Child-friendly magic, table illusions and balloon modelling were also delivered for the lovely couple’s friends and family.

I was delighted when Jamie and Rachel asked me to be part of their special wedding day celebrations at the fantastic Langar Hall in Nottingham. Taking place during the festive period, it certainly was an extra-magical occasion!

Langar Hall was the perfect location for the wedding day. With its rustic charm, homely interior and exceptional events team, the stage was well and truly set for an unforgettable experience for all.

Jamie and Rachel’s guests had travelled from far and wide to share the day. It truly was a pleasure and a privilege to chat to family members from both the USA and my home town of Glasgow prior to the highly unique and memorable wedding ceremony.

The lovely couple had requested that I mingle with the guests during the drinks reception. It was fantastic to perform close-up magic whilst the exceptional Stav (lead vocalist and guitarist of The Money) performed an acoustic set in the conservatory area. Card magic, sleight-of-hand, mind-reading effects and child-friendly entertainment were the order of the day during this period.

After the wedding breakfast, it was superb to entertain both day and evening guests. Everyone was in high spirits, and this was a fine time for both visual illusions and larger parlour effects in the charming function rooms of Langar Hall. It was also a great privilege to perform some specialised customised magic for bride and groom, as well as for close family and friends.
